MORNIN' GLORY BLUES

Easter Monday

The work I did
For Holy Week and
The Grand Celebration
Is all in various trash cans
By now,
And,
While it's true that
The birds are tweeting
At my feeder,
The grass is greening,
And even
The seeds are sprouting--
Pop!
It's hard to spade the ground
This year,
Hard to prepare--
Prepare for what?
I don't know.
And,
My blinking birthday looms,
All the worse this year,
Coupled with "Divine Mercy",
While I'm still smothered--
Back in the tomb.
